About Me
Hi, I’m Nicolaj! Two years ago, I moved from The Netherlands to the Blue Mountains to be with the love of my life, and I quickly fell in love with the breathtaking landscapes here.
Nature has always been my passion. I studied biology at the University of Utrecht and earned my Certificate in Horticulture right here in the Blue Mountains. After completing my studies, I worked in the beautiful botanical gardens of Mount Wilson, where I honed my skills in creating stunning outdoor spaces.
Now, I’ve brought those skills closer to home by starting The Gardening Dutchman. My mission is simple: to bring joy and beauty to your life through the transformation of your garden. I believe everyone deserves to experience the wonders of nature just outside their door.

Sustainable Pledge

• Eco-Friendly Tools: I use only high-quality electric tools to reduce my carbon footprint and work quietly in harmony with nature.
• Organic Solutions: My gardening approach relies on organic products and non-chemical treatments to keep your plants healthy without harming the environment.
• Planting Trees: Every month, I partner with Ecologi to plant 25 trees—because it’s time we give back to the bush and start regrowing what we’ve lost.
