About me

My name is Nicolaj and I moved to the Blue Mountains from The Netherlands 2 years ago to be with the love of my life but had no idea how much I would fall in love with the stunning Blue Mountains landscape. My interests have always been in nature and that's why I have studied biology at the University of Utrecht and have completed my Certificate in Horticulture here in the Blue Mountains. After completing my certificate I began working in a botanical garden in Mount Wilson and learned what it takes to create beauty in the backyard and decided to bring these skills a little closer to home because everyone should enjoy the beauty of nature just outside their door. This is why I have started The Gardening Dutchman, to bring you happiness through the beauty of your garden.

Sustainable Pledge

As someone who is passionate about nature and spends a lot of my time immersed in it, I strongly believe we should all do our best to preserve these important ecosystems and do our part in preventing climate change and it starts with the individual. That is why The Gardening Dutchman only works with top-quality electric tools and takes pride in using only organic products and non-chemical plant & disease treatments. Last but not least The Gardening Dutchman is partnered with our friends at Ecologi to plant 25 trees every month because it's time we start regrowing our bush!
